Rick Hurst - Digital / Visual Artist

A native of Hattiesburg, MS, Rick graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a major in Graphic Arts and minors in Art History & Advertising.  Not finding a job in the arts field, Rick joined the federal government in the early 80’s, and eventually retired in Washington, DC as a paralegal.

Moving to the Gulf Coast of Alabama, he converted his new garage into an artist’s studio and used his skills in acrylics and watercolors to participate in art markets, artists’ co-ops, galleries and art shows, often winning awards.

Rick began experimenting with digital photos of nature and architecture, altering colors and combining them in multiple overlays and exposures. Since he moved to St Petersburg in 2016, Rick has been creating digital artworks that entice his audience and stimulate their imaginations.
